After a long silence, playlists aside, we have posted our usual selection of 30 best albums and 30 best singles of the past year. However, we are not saying these records are "the best" - this is just one possible view of the last year, the music we were grooving to, the music that we came across.
As we say in the top of the page, the BGYSS radio functions as a refined music filter, nothing more, and nothing less. There is so much more that we missed, or underrated, we are sure. And we are sorry about that. There is only so much that we can do. As Kurt Vonnegut would say - "So it goes..."
We have seen a bunch of great shows as well, but there are too many blogs in this world, and so little time... We will tell you about them some day, for sure. We also need to keep working hard to find more good music for you in 2009, and we are sure there will be plenty. Finally, we have a really intensive year ahead of us, with many many events in Belgrade, and an even bigger 8th edition of the Dis-patch Festival (October 15th to November 8th), but there will also be plenty of stuff in the first half of the year. Keep track of our web links and you will not miss a thing.
Finally, if we put the disclaimer aside, the RECORD OF THE YEAR is undoubtedly The Bug's "London Zoo". It was worth the wait!
